Focus on healing from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and, when working with clients, being able to respond to their traumatic memories in a way that is empowering. Emphasis on avoiding retraumatization while recognizing and reducing hyperarousal, recovering the ability to feel, and replacing victim consciousness with victor consciousness. Acu-points and safe, effective body-oriented forms of exposure and cognitive therapy techniques for reducing PTSD symptoms like hyperarousal.

During the course of a lifetime, about half of all men and women will be exposed to at least one major traumatic event, and about 8% will suffer a trauma disorder.

Bodymind Processing Skills class is a certification requirement. Students may wonder why I have scheduled it after Intermediate rather than after Advanced. Jin Shin Do is a bodymind method of acupressure. I feel this is one of the most important of all the classes. I believe that who we are as the "acupressurist", is almost more important than what we know how to do with the points. In this course we not only learn skills of communication and listening, but the focus is on our own beingness. By taking this course after Intermediate, students have a chance to more deeply integrate the meridian theory while practicing the bodymind processing skills. Then, during the Advanced course, practice sessions become much more the "real thing". Trust me.
